On the 3rd of October, I tagged along with a friend of mine to the Gstar RAW  30th birthday celebration hosted by 4w Lifestyle at an art studio on Bree Street, Cape Town.

I rarely do First Thursdays because of the hassle of having to move from place to place. That’s why I chose to go to this event.

4w Lifestyle First Thursdays are curated in such a way to keep you entertained the  whole evening. You can pop in after an afternoon spent moving around galleries for an excellent selection of music and great company.

In true 4w Lifestyle fashion, young professionals, creatives, and influencers from all over the country came together to celebrate three decades of GstarRaw. You may have seen the Hashtag #3DecadesofRaw moving around Instagram this past First Thursday.

Live mannequins showcasing the latest fashion available at GStar Raw were stationed in the centre of the room. According to 4w Lifestyle’s Facebook page, this was the 2019 Autumn/Winter collection.

Other visible brands were Hennessy and Desperado. I finally got the chance to try Desperados – the tequila flavoured beer. Hennessy cocktails were also served throughout the night.

Yanga Yaya also graced us with a performance that incorporates dynamic choreography with his new-age alternative sound. He ended his set with his new single titled Suro Nipa. Thereafter, Djs @Mihlali_the_guy from Watermelon Production’s Amapiano Sunday and future beat sound producer and artist Gina Jeanz serenaded us with sounds varying from Amapiano to Alternative.

I last attended a 4w Lifestyle First Thursday about a year ago and I can safely say that 4w Lifestyle is still able to provide a wholesome experience.

I’m definitely looking forward to the next 4w Lifestyle First Thursday and I would 100% recommend it for any young professional or creative looking to make new connections and friendships.

Look out for 4w Lifestyle on Instagram to be in the loop for upcoming events in and around Cape Town.
